MIYC Announces Racing Calendar

Following the pandemic, the future of yacht races that were suddenly cancelled on all courses remained uncertain in parallel with the outbreak.

After the pandemic was brought under control, decisions from clubs regarding cancelled races or races planned in the upcoming calendar

were being awaited.

As pandemic measures were gradually eased in a controlled manner over time, clubs began to revise their calendars.

Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC) first announced its 2021 race schedule.

Following the announcement, it also released the calendar for races it plans to hold this year.

MIYC maintained caution and included a caveat in its announcement stating "Subject to Appropriate Conditions".

AUGUST 15-21 / HDI LORYMA CUP

OCTOBER 2-4 / NUROLBANK CAMPUS CUP

This was one of the races postponed due to the pandemic. The race, whose planning began a year in advance, has been rescheduled for October 2-4.

The event, in which university teams participate, coincides with the start of the university term.

If it takes place, there should be no negative impact on participation.

OCTOBER 24-30 / 31st MARMARIS INTERNATIONAL RACE WEEK

Turkey's international yacht race with the highest participation. In recent years, numerical participation superiority had shifted to Russian teams.

There is still a long time ahead until race days.

Currently, tourism professionals are expecting air travel with Russia to resume and positively affect tourism.

If this and similar developments begin and continue positively, Race Week will take place with the same enthusiasm again.

NOVEMBER 21-22 MIYC WINTER TROPHY 5th LEG

The winter trophy cancelled at the 5th leg will be held on November 21-22.

DECEMBER 5-6 MIYC-WINTER TROPHY 6th LEG & EURUKO BT YEAR-END CUP

Completion of the trophy that could not be finished during the difficult period is planned for December 5-6.
