ERGO-MIYC Winter Trophy 5th Leg Day One Results
Intense Competition Continues as Winter Trophy Series Approaches Thrilling Finale

Taking the winter trophy to a breathless finale, ERGO-MIYC completed the day by conducting all the races planned on the first day of the 5th Leg.
At the briefing held at the club building on the evening of April 24, Chief Race Officer Can GİRAY stated that their goal in this leg was to complete 3 races.
During the week, meteorology websites showed the Marmaris Region as windless, but when we headed out to the race course on Saturday, April 25, contrary to predictions, different conditions awaited us.

The wind blowing from 180 degrees at 8-12 knots was enough to delight those who would race, those who would manage, and those who would shoot.
When the course was set up and starting procedures began, a total of 24 boats were ready for competition. The boats, racing on two sausage courses to two different marks, would cover a distance of 7 nautical miles as the crow flies.p>
With the start given at 11:00, 5 boats in IRC-1, 6 in IRC-2, 8 in IRC-3, and 5 in IRC-4 began racing on the course with a flawless start. The wind gradually increasing its strength without changing direction brought the race to a beautiful point. During the middle of the race, especially the waves entering from the mouth of Marmaris Bay created high seas in that area, while also providing us with spectacular views.

With the last boat finishing at 12:24, the 1st race concluded.
At the end of the race, MATRAK 2 in IRC-1, HAYTA 2 in IRC-2, M2 in IRC-3, and CLAVELLE in IRC-4 were the boats that left their competitors behind in their respective classes.
With the completion of the final finish of Race 1, the procedures for Race 2 immediately began. The wind was still blowing from 180 degrees but its strength was reaching 20 knots.
The boats that would race on a 12 Nautical Mile triangle followed by a sausage course took the start in front of the Castle. The boats that began racing with a flawless start maintained the same order in this race as they had in the first race.

As the race approached the finish, the wind had dropped to 14-16 knots. In the race where finishes took place off Yalancı Boğaz, MARTAK 2 made the first finish, followed by the closest pursuing boat CORRIER DU COEUR, which finished 7.5 minutes later.
After the 2nd Race, there were no changes among the leaders.

At the evening party held at the Club building, trophies were distributed to the boats that placed in the 4th Leg, and predictions for tomorrow's race had begun.
From paradise, from Marmaris, we will continue to share with you the photographs and notes from tomorrow's single race.
